Freelance journalists Mike and Judith Stares founded the Cotswold & Swindon News Service in 1968. Their agency, serving all national and regional media, is now the longest-established in the south-west under the same ownership.

Mike is a qualified City and Guilds tutor under the Further and Adult Education Teachers Scheme. Mike’s ongoing day, evening and weekend Journalism Courses, which have a practical rather than a lecture format, have inspired students to successfully submit their work to a wide range of media outlets including national and regional newspapers and magazines.
